| The population of the Gujarat State was 50,671,017 as per the 2001 census data. Its official and primary language is Gujarati. About 89.1% of the population of Gujarat are Hindu. Muslims account for 9.1%, Jain 1.0% and Sikh 0.1% of the population. About 37.36 per cent population of Gujarat resides in urban areas. |
